Shortfellas is a feature film which may sound “short” but actually it is not! The film combines successfully comedy and drama by describing the adventures of five little men with big ambitions who are trying to rob a bank in Newcastle and, under pressure, also to steal £5m in diamonds in order to….pay for a young girl’s operation!
Warwick Davis, one of the five dwarfs (‘Willow,’ ‘Star Wars,’ ‘Narnia,’ ‘Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ and ‘Harry Potter’) says that "as I opened the 1st draft of 'ShortFellas', I knew this was something good, something different. It is both heartfelt and funny, exciting and touching”.
According to the writer/director of the movie, Richard Johnstone the movie was inspired by The Italian Job, Ocean's Eleven and The Full Monty.
