Andrew has extensive experience in commercial property work with particular emphasis on investment property in the retail sector. He has acted for a number of large UK Pension Funds including Co-operative Insurance Society Limited, Hermes (previously Postel/Britel), Clerical Medical and other Funds managed by Invista Real Estate Management. He also acts for a number of occupiers and retailers including Dobbies Garden Centres Limited, Austin Reed and Country Casuals.
Recent deals include portfolio acquisitions and disposals on behalf of Clerical Medical Managed Funds Limited and Halifax Life Limited, the acquisition of part of Motherwell Town Centre from North Lanarkshire Council for a Joint Venture Partnership involving CIS and the subsequent disposal of the whole retail core of Motherwell Town Centre, the extension and major new lettings of Hermiston Gait Retail Park, Edinburgh, the refurbishment and letting of Clyde Shopping Centre, Clydebank and the acquisition of development sites for Dobbies Garden Centres.
Andrew is a member of the Tods Murray Commercial Property and Property Finance teams. He is a member of the British Council of Shopping Centres and has written a number of articles for national publications on landlord and tenant related issues. He also holds the IPF Module 4 qualification in respect of "Property as an Asset Class".
