Fit for Purpose in the 21st Century : Charity Fundraising

Tods Murray’s Charity Law team is delighted to host the first of a series of special lunchtime briefings entitled “Fit for purpose in the 21st Century” aimed specifically at charities.

Charity Fundraising will be delivered by Maureen Harrison, CEO of Sick Kids Friends Foundation, who has vast experience in this area, with Anne Marie Renz , Head of Business Tax at Tods Murray and chaired by Lynn Beaumont, of the Tods Murray Charity Law team.

There are many topical issues relating to fundraising and Maureen will discuss the self regulatory model now operating in Scotland, , why charities should consider joining the Fundraising Standards Board and the standards they need to comply with.  She will also cover corporate fundraising, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the new emerging methods of fundraising such as e-fundraising.

Anne Marie Renz will provide an overview of the most tax efficient ways to encourage donors to donate, Gift Aid is a tried and tested method however there are many other ways to consider.

Lynn Beaumont will provide a round up of current legal issues relating to fundraising.

Other briefings in our charity specific series include Meeting the Charity Test on 18 September 2008 and Investment on 19 November 2008.  You can book spaces online for these briefings as well.
